HKN Donations

Beta Chapter has a long history of serving the ECE community. We humbly accept donations from public and private donors to further its service to the ECE community. Past donations have included desktop computers, electronic equipment for the HKN Lab, furniture, and financial gifts. If you are interested in donating to Beta Chapter, please email us at hkn@ecn.purdue.edu.

We offer a wide assortment of opportunities for support and will work closely with you to ensure that your donation is utilized in a manner you designate. Some examples include:

1. Lounge improvements: Beta Chapter is famous for its student-operated snack shop, located in the basement of the EE building. We provide low-cost beverages and snacks to students at a modest profit. We recycle profits through the community through scholarships, social events, and other forms of community service. We are constantly looking to improve our lounge to provide a relaxing environment for the overly stressed ECE students.
2. Lab facilities: Beta Chapter maintains a laboratory open to all ECE students. The lab is stocked with free parts and equipment and becomes a second home to most senior design students. Our equipment is rapidly becoming outdated. Equipment donations are a great way for corporate sponsors to make an immediate impact in ECE at Purdue!
3. Scholarship endowment: Beta Chapter supports three need-based scholarships for the outstanding sophomore, junior, and senior in ECE. Our goal is to provide a full-scholarship by 2025.

   Please make all checks payable to "Eta Kappa Nu, Beta Chapter." That's it! No insane paperwork from our end! Equipment donations may be sent to the same address.

• Question: Do I send the donation directly to Beta Chapter or should I send it to the [ECE department/Eta Kappa Nu Nationals/Business Office for Student Organizations]?
  
  Answer: Please send the donation directly to Beta Chapter. We will handle the cataloging of equipment with Purdue University and the deposit of funds with the Business Office for Student Organizations.



• Question: What kind of acknowledgement will be provided for my donation?
  
  Answer: The acknowledgement depends on the type of gift. We work out acknowledgements on a per-donation basis. The scale of acknowledgement is usually proportional to the size of the donation.
